The HEG® concept
The HEG® – high efficiency genes – is a new system that allows a reduction of at least 50% energy consumption in each MERCATUS cooling unit.
This innovative system is available as an option in almost all the MERCATUS products.
The HEG® concept is in coherence with the company greening up strategy and place the MERCATUS brand in a leading position in terms of green efficiency.
50% less energy consumption means an important decrease of operating costs in the HORECA businesses and represents the MERCATUS contribution to reducing global carbon emissions.
Reduction of carbon emissions
When fitted with HEG® as an option, the MERCATUS L2 Counters will allow an average reduction exceeding five tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over 10 years of use.
When fitted with HEG® as an option, the MERCATUS M1 Cabinets will allow an average reduction exceeding five tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over 10 years of use.
Low energy consumption
The significant energy saving achieved with the HEG® option is the direct result of two years of intense Cooling Lab® engineering, research, monitoring and testing worked-out by a great group of engineers.
This innovation integrates the most advanced electro-mechanical parts available in the market and gives MERCATUS users the possibility to benefit from several governmental programs that encourage the use of energy efficient products.
When fitted with HEG® as an option, the MERCATUS L2 Counters will allow an average reduction of approximately 60% of energy consumption.
When fitted with HEG® as an option, the MERCATUS M1 Cabinets will allow an average reduction of approximately 50% of energy consumption.
